This is a song about the apartment I lived in when I first moved to St. John's. They say truth is stranger than fiction - I couldn't make this song up if I tried.

I got a neighbor upstairs, got a cat acts like a dog,
A dog next door that never turns off,
The neighbors on the other side, they just got married,
But I never see them, I wonder how they're doing?

I love my place in life,
It just get a little cold sometimes.

I live across the street from the premiers mistress,
He comes calling in a small, black lincoln,
The girl who lived here before has a photo collection,
I wonder if she'll use it in the next election?

Without an overaching album theme to tie the songs together, it felt like Sufjan was free to experiment on each track and give them their own unique sound.
